UN emails statement on Internet blackout in Afghanistan
Taliban ban on internet cuts country off from outside world amid reports leadership will have their own "Talibnet"

UNAMA CALLS ON DE FACTO AUTHORITIES TO URGENTLY RESTORE INTERNET, TELECOMMUNICATIONS ACCESS IN AFGHANISTAN
KABUL, 30 September - The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) calls on Afghanistan’s de facto Taliban authorities to immediately and fully restore nationwide Internet and telecommunications access.
The cut in access has left Afghanistan almost completely cut off from the outside world, and risks inflicting significant harm on the Afghan people, including by threatening economic stability and exacerbating one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.
